Licensing Criteria

The Commission provides online gambling licenses only to companies which have proven that uphold the highest operating standards. In fact, the Online Gambling Act of 2001 stipulates that no license will be given to operators which are not controlled by persons of integrity and competence.

Furthermore, if an operator doesn’t have the financial means available to conduct online gambling, then the GSC will not even discuss whether a license should be given.

License Application Requirements

The Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission requires all online gambling which want to operate online gambling services to apply for an OGRA license. There are several different types of fees which online gambling operators should meet if they want to obtain an OGRA license.
These include the following:

• £5,000 administration fee with the initial application (Network Services, Full or Sub-licence);
• £50,000 per annum thereafter, for a Network Services licence;
• £35,000 per annum thereafter, for a Full licence;
• £5,000 per annum thereafter, for a Sub-licence.

Types of OGRA Licenses

The Isle of Man Gambling Commission Supervision issues licenses for various types of gambling and betting activities. These licenses are issued to license and regulate activities such as online casino gambling, sportsbooks, peer-to-peer gaming, live dealer table games, betting exchanges, mobile device betting, pool betting, lotteries, financial trading, fantasy sports, networked games and so on.
