The live casino segment has been rapidly growing over the recent years and expanding across the world. Live dealer games have also become very popular in Asia, a continent with a long history of gambling. That’s why players there can enjoy games that are not familiar to Western audiences. One such game is based on Fant Tan, a popular Chinese game whose origins can be traced to the third century. So it comes as no surprise that Evolution decided to introduce this thrilling game to live casino enthusiasts in the latest release titled Fan Tan Live.
One of the leading names in the modern online gambling industry didn’t want to experiment much. Evolution preserved the original gameplay loop, delivering a playing experience as close as possible to the one available in Asian casinos.
Playing the Game
Fan Tan Live allows players to choose between default and an advanced view. The first one gives access to the main bets. The second option, although intimidating for newbies, comes with more functionalities.
The goal of the game is to predict the number of beads that will stay in the game’s final line. Before the start of each round, players will have to place their bet. The choice of wagers is broad: Fan, Kwok,Nim, Sheh-Sam-Hong, Odd/Even and Big/Small. Pick a coin value and place it on the desired wager. After that’s done, the game will proceed to its next stage.
All the beads are hoarded in one place and placed underneath a glass dome. The dealer shakes the beads and then uses a metal cup to separate a random number of them. With the help of a special stick, the game host splits these beads into groups of four. They will be lined up until only the final line stays on the table.
By the end of the round, players will see how many beads are there. There can be one, two, three, or four of them. They win if they wager on the correct number of beads. After the round comes to an end, all the beads will be pushed back into the glass dome.
Game Features
As we mentioned earlier, choosing the advanced mode will add more betting options.
Fan is a standard bet, which allows players to choose one winning number. Making the correct prediction awards a payout of 2.85 to 1. This is the game’s highest paying bet.
Nim is similar to Fan, covering two numbers, with only one being the winning one. For example, placing a 1 Nim 3 wager will award a win if only one bead remains in the final line. But if there are three of them, players will receive their initial stake back. It pays 1.9 to 1.

Kwok is another bet covering two numbers, with both of them being the winning ones. So, placing a Kwok 2-3 wager will result in a win if there are two or three beads on the final line. It pays 0.95 to 1.
Sheh-Sam-Hong is the safest bet to choose, as it covers three numbers. All chosen numbers are treated as winning. It pays only 0.316667 to 1.
The selection of wagers includes two traditional side bets. Big/Small allows players to pick whether the final line will have one or two beads (Small) or three or four beads (Big). Odd/Even lets players choose between an odd or even number of beads. Since they both cover two numbers, these bets pay 0.95 to 1.
