Pragmatic Play is a well-established name in the world of online gambling. Founded in 2015, the company has since increased its portfolio of online and live games to more than 100 HTML5 titles, available to players in 78 countries around the world.
The developer’s focus, which has initially been on video slots and RNG table games, switched to live casino in 2018, after the purchase of Extreme Live Gaming. But Pragmatic Play had more ambitious plans than simply taking over an existing brand.
The company wanted to reintroduce familiar games in HTML5 and offer its partners and players a solution unlike any other. Blackjack and Roulette were first added to the offer, in May last year, while Baccarat joined in March 2020.
Live Blackjack
The game of live dealer Blackjack is played with eight decks of cards. They’ll be dealt from a manual dealing shoe, and will be reshuffled after half of the cards have been distributed.
Since the game is played by Vegas Rules, players and the dealer will start the game by receiving two cards. Punters will be able to get insurance before the dealer has the chance to peek, but only if the dealer shows an Ace. A Blackjack will end the game round.

Players can choose to Double on any two cards, or they can opt to Split pairs. Aces will, however, receive only a single additional card, with no option to Double. Side Bets and Perfect Pairs can be played together with each hand.
Blackjack offers a Multi-Seat play option, allowing up to three seats in a session. Once all the seats are occupied, players can use Bet Behind. Another useful functionality is Pre-Decision, as it adds to the excitement by speeding up the game.
Live Roulette
This is a nice and quick game of European Roulette, played with a TCS John Huxley Wheel. Here players can use a Race Track to place wagers on the wheel’s neighbours and sections, and can also enjoy a number of special bets.
Roulette offers the chance to keep track of results, while the extensive set of statistics can show up to 500 previously played spins. All results, as well as the corresponding statistics, are updated in real-time. When it comes to betting time, punters will have 21 seconds to place their stakes, with 43 seconds for making Spin to Spin wagers.
Live Baccarat
The most recent game to have joined Pragmatic Play’s line-up, Baccarat comes in three variants: Normal Live Baccarat, Speed Baccarat, and No Commission Baccarat.
All of them are played with eight decks, offering players the full set of Side Bets. Banker/Player Pairs, Perfect Pair, Big/Small Hand and Either Pair are available for all three versions, while No Commission Baccarat also offers a Super 6 Side Bet.
Speed Baccarat comes with a betting time of 10 seconds, while cards are dealt face up. No Commission functionality is turned on easily, by clicking the Super 6 facility located on the right part of the screen. Once a hand is dealt, it is still possible to switch between the two modes.
Pragmatic Play’s state of the art studio is located in Romania, and currently has the capacity of 43 tables. The studio itself looks sophisticated, with a nice colour scheme and a light atmosphere.
The quality of the streaming is excellent, as Pragmatic Play uses 4k cameras in its facility. Players will be able to hear the dealers clearly, while background sounds will not be distracting. The viewing distance takes you to the centre of the action and provides a clear overview of the cards in the hand.
