There are many things we love about summer. These are the weather, the festive atmosphere that captivates everyone, and the long walks by the sea. When you think about it, it looks like non-stop fun, and to be honest, it feels that way. It’s precisely the setting created by Habanero in its recently launched Carnival Cove slot.
At first glance, the fresh launch promises loads of fun and more than enough opportunities to win. But is it really so? Let’s take a moment to explore the latest addition to the Habanero portfolio and learn more about its features.
Welcome to the Carnival
Once the game starts, you’ll be taken to a beach with a view of an amusement park with a rollercoaster and a Ferris wheel. The surroundings reminded us of the famous Santa Monica Pier, while the sounds of waves hitting the shore and birds further added to the atmosphere. A tune plays in the background, but subtly to let you enjoy the ambient sounds.
The action takes place on a five-reel, three-row grid with 243 ways to win on every spin. You’ll need to land at least three matching symbols on adjacent reels, starting from the far left, to form a win. Of course, the more symbols are part of a winning combo, the bigger your payout will be.
When it comes to symbols, colourful tickets serve as lows, awarding payouts from 2x to 10x the bet for five-of-a-kind wins. On the other hand, turtle, dolphin, seal, and sea horse carousel seats award more significant prizes, paying from 12x to 30x the stake for winning combinations of five symbols.
Wilds appear only on reels 2 and 4, substituting for all other regulars to help create more wins. Additionally, landing five of these symbols pays 50x the stake.

Carnival Cove: Features
The only extra offered by Carnival Cove is the Free Spins round. Although that doesn’t sound much, we have to point out the feature is packed with action.
Free Spins
Scatter symbols can land anywhere on the reels, with at least three needed to unlock the Free Spins feature. However, before you start spending your freebies, you’ll receive a payout: 1x for three Scatters, as well as 5x or 100x the stake for four or five of these symbols.
The initial number of spins depends on the number of triggering symbols, meaning you can start the round with 8, 15, or 30 spins.
On each spin, the carousel reveals a multiplier of 2x, 3x, or 5x, which is applied to any potential win. In addition to three multipliers, there’s a mystery option, which chooses a random symbol and replaces all instances of it with a Wild.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to add more freebies during the round.
Despite its name, Carnival Core doesn’t look like a genuine carnival. It’s more like a claw machine in a convenience store. The game looks nice, and it’s still capable of entertaining players, at least to a point. Multipliers add more depth to the Free Spins round, but you’ll get tired of them quickly.
