Pragmatic Play Brings Sugary Treats in New Sweet PowerNudge

Pragmatic Play has recently expanded its PowerNudge lineup of games by launching a new slot titled Sweet PowerNudge. The third instalment of the series may not seem exciting initially, but it has a few tricks up its sleeve. It perfectly slides into the candy category of slot games while, at the same time, promising a thrilling playing experience. Features like the Multiplier Reel, Free Spins, and the optional Ante Bet and Feature Buy functionalities ensure players have no shortage of fun.

Get Ready for a Sugar Rush

When it comes to the game’s presentation, it’s certainly present, although a bit unimaginative. Candies and aptly-themed symbols are in the background, along with a joyful soundtrack. The scene may not be original, but it is nice. We guess the development team wanted to play it safe, keeping the feel-good Candy Crush theme, but players will be familiar with much of the game’s style.

The previous two titles from the series, Goblin Heist PowerNudge and Rise of Giza PowerNudge, had similar reel layouts, but Sweet PowerNudge uses an entirely different board. The action takes place on a six-reel, five-row grid. There’s an additional seventh reel on the far right, although it contains only multipliers. There are no standard paylines on offer. Instead, the slot uses the Cluster Pays mechanic. It needs at least five matching symbols, connected horizontally or vertically, to produce a win. Sweet PowerNudge comes with multiple RTP configurations, with 96.08% being the default value. The payout percentage remains the same, no matter whether you use the Ante Bet option or buy free spins.

A stake of $0.20 is enough to get the reels moving, going up to $100 per spin. With the Ante Bet on, the stake increases by 25% and further boosts the winning odds.

The paytable includes playing card symbols as low pays, while purple, green, yellow, and red treats award more generous rewards. These icons pay up to 100x the stake for clusters of fifteen or more symbols. Unfortunately, Wilds won’t be there to help you form more wins.

Sweet PowerNudge: Slot Features

We‘ll start with the titular PowerNudge feature. Whenever a win is formed, the reels holding the triggering symbols nudge down by one position. New icons will appear at the top, while non-winning reels don‘t move. If a new win is produced, the whole process will repeat. The PowerNudge feature continues as long as more winning combinations are made.

The seventh reel is home only to multiplier values of 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, and 10x. During the base game, this reel is disabled, although it can be randomly triggered. When this occurs, the Multiplier Reel will nudge when a winning reel does the same. Following a nudge, the multiplier value is added to the total multiplier. It will reset to 1x once the spin ends.

Scatter symbols are collected every time they land. In the base game, it takes at least four to unlock the Free Spins round. Using more than four Scatters will carry over the extra ones to the bonus round, improving the odds of retriggering the feature. Free Spins start with seven freebies, with three more added to the tally each time you collect four Scatters. The main advantage of this feature is that the Multiplier Reel is always active during the bonus.

As we already mentioned, the bonus buy option is available in some jurisdictions. It allows gamblers to purchase free spins by paying 100x the bet.

The first two games in the PowerNudge series were quite impressive, but Pragmatic Play chose to take a different approach with the new title. The developer’s similar-themed slots were massive hits, so they decided to stick with the proven combination. Don’t expect plenty of excitement in the base game, with the Multiplier Reel the only thing that caught our attention.
