Quickspin Launches Highly-Anticipated Sakura Fortune II

Following the success of the original Sakura Fortune slot, launched back in 2017, Quickspin returns to the Land of the Rising Sun. The cherry blossom season proved to be a great recipe, captivating players in one of the developer’s most beloved releases. If you’re up for a thrilling adventure, then you shouldn’t miss out on the new Sakura Fortune II. Let’s see what makes the sequel tick and whether it’s worth your time.

Cherry Blossom Blooms Again

The game’s heroine dominates the middle reels, hacking and slashing the way to wins. If you’ve played the original Sakura Fortune, you’ll notice the change in the reel layout. Five reels are in play, together with a 3-4-4-4-3 row layout and 576 different ways to win on every spin. The background scenery displays a traditional Japanese structure with cherry blossoms all around. Audiovisuals have been upgraded, and you’ll notice the change as soon as the game starts.

Playable across all platforms, Sakura Fortune II offers comprehensive wagering options, starting as low as $0.20 and going up to $100 per spin. The sequel’s maths model is more volatile, but players can look forward to a more considerable win potential. The default RTP is 96.03%, although the available Feature Buy Options significantly affect the game’s payout percentage.

As mentioned, Sakura Fortune II uses the winning ways system, meaning prizes occur when landing matching symbols on adjacent rows, starting from the leftmost reel. Moving on to the paytable, we see a couple of cosmetic changes and symbol swaps. Four Asian Coins are low-paying symbols, followed by Koi and Jizo Statues, Tomoe, Yoshida, and Sensei, paying up to 6x the bet for five of a kind.

Sakura Fortune II: Features

If you’ve played the original Sakura Fortune slot, many of the features on offer will be familiar. However, Quickspin’s development team made sure to give them a twist. The list of available options includes Wilds, respins, the Free Spins round with locked Wilds, and a couple of Buy Features.

Sakura Wild

The Sakura Wild symbols play a crucial role in the game, appearing only on the three centre reels. One or more Wilds can even land partially in view, although when that happens, there’s always a chance they’ll nudge to cover an entire reel. Whenever a Wild covers a whole reel, players receive a respin, while the triggering Wild (or more of them) stays locked in its position.

Free Spins

Three Scatters landing on reels 2, 3, and 4 will see the leftmost and the rightmost reels respin, with Scatters locked in place. During the respin, only Scatter symbols appear on reels 1 and 5, allowing slot enthusiasts to start the Free Spins round is more spins and Wilds. Here’s what they can get:

• Three Scatters award nine freebies.
• Four Scatters award ten spins and one locked Wild.
• Five Scatters start the round with eleven spins and two locked Wild symbols.

Whenever a Wild appears during the bonus round, it will nudge to cover a whole reel, locking each Wild in place for the rest of the feature. Locking all three Wilds will triple all your winnings.

The Feature Buy Option

In some jurisdictions, players can purchase the Free Spins round. They can pay 55x, 70x, or 320x the stake to get three, four, or five Scatters, respectively. However, all three options significantly impact the game’s RTP, increasing it up to 96.72%.
