Casino Royale
James Bond, played by Daniel Craig, takes on a poker-playing villain called Le Chiffre in this thrilling movie. Their incredible showdown in Monte Carlo is one of the memorable scenes in the film and also one of the most exciting scenes made in recent years. In the end, Bond faces his opponent in an all-or-nothing game, with a furious pace and a jaw-dropping poker game.
The Color of Money
Paul Newman is an aging pool shark Eddie Felson, who stops playing the game, but can’t resist its joys. Scorsese brings a wide variety of characters, including a promising pool player Vincent, played by Tom Cruise. The sequel to the 1961 movie The Hustler, The Colour of the Money is at the same time solid and despairing.
