While Craps remains a popular game in land-based venues, it’s not a common sight in online casinos. Though some attempts have been made to capture the thrill of this dice-rolling title, it remains relatively niche. This probably explains why many software providers skip this title in favour of other games.
However, Play’n GO has decided to take a crack at the formula themselves with GO Craps. The release lets players enjoy this game at their own pace while taking advantage of extra features like game statistics and custom betting strategies.
Let’s dive in and see what this title’s all about.
How to Play GO Craps
GO Craps doesn’t make any changes to the rules. The studio opted for a faithful recreation of a casino classic rather than adding new things to further complicate matters. GO Craps rolls two dice at the start of each round.
The game can be split into two phases: Come Out and Point. Craps always starts in the Come Out phase, with a puck labelled Off being visible on the table. If the first roll draws numbers 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, the game swaps to the Point phase, with the rolled number becoming the Point. The visible puck is now white and labelled On.
What bets you can make and how you go about winning the round depends on the current phase. We’ll go over all possible stakes for each phase in separate sections.
Come Out Bets
- Pass Line wins if you roll a 7 or 11 on the come out roll and loses if the dice total is 2, 3, or 12. The bet can carry over into the Point phase. At that point, winning the Pass line bet requires you to roll the Point number, while a 7 means a loss.
- Don’t Pass pays if you roll 2 or 3 and loses if you roll 7 or 11. If the game progresses into the Point Phase, it wins if you roll a 7 before the Point number. If a 12 is rolled, Don’t Pass ends in a push.
- Field bets win if the dice total is 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, or 12. This is a one-time bet.
- Any Seven is a one-time bet and pays if a 7 gets rolled.
- Any Craps wins if 2, 3, or 12 is rolled. This is a one-time bet.
- Hardways pays if both dice show the same value. For example, a Hardways 4 win would require both dice to stop on a 2, adding up to 4. Other possible Hardways are 6, 8, and 10.
- Craps is a one-time bet which wins if the next dice total is the number you chose. You can pick between 2, 3, 11, or 12.
- Horn places your bet on all four Craps bets evenly.
- Place pays if your chosen number appears before 7. You can bet on numbers 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10.
- Place to Lose is an inverse of the Place bet, winning if a 7 appears before your selected number.
- Buy pays if your chosen number gets rolled before 7. A 5% fee is charged if the Buy bet wins. Available numbers include 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10.
- Lay is the inverse of the Buy bet, winning if a 7 is rolled before your number. You must pay a 5% fee if you win the Lay bet.
- Big 6/8 bets are placed on the Big 6 or Big 8 fields. It pays if your respective number gets rolled before a 7.

Point Bets
Along with the wagers mentioned above, Play’n GO’s release makes the following bets available during the Point phase.
- Come pays if a 7 or 11 is rolled. If 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 appear, the Come bet is moved to that number. At that point, winning the Come bet requires rolling the selected number before a 7 shows up.
- Don’t Come wins if you roll a 2 or 3. If the dice total is 12, the round ends in a push. If numbers 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 are rolled, the Don’t Come bet shifts to the rolled number. The Don’t Come bet will win if you roll a 7 before the new number reappears.
- Taking Odds is only possible if you played the Pass Line bet. It pays if the Point number gets rolled before 7.
- Laying Odds requires you to play the Don’t Pass bet. It wins if a 7 is rolled before the Point number.
- Odds on Come can be played if you already wagered on the Come bet. It pays if the Come number gets rolled before 7.
- Odds on Don’t Come is only possible if you played the Don’t Come bet. It wins if a 7 is rolled before the Come number.
GO Craps Strategies and Statistics
The game leans into its digital nature to make strategizing easier. Under its Pro section, you can see how often each number appeared for the past 100 rolls. This also keeps track of how often certain Hardways show up. Above the playing area, you can see the dice total for prior rounds. It also displays what both dice landed on in the previous roll.
Play’n GO’s release also comes with four betting strategies you can play from its strategies section. Alternatively, you can set up bets however you like and save them as a custom strategy, allowing you to play them anytime.
