Big Time Gaming Adds Megapays to Stars Clusters Slot

Big Time Gaming had big plans with the original Star Clusters Megaclusters slot, but despite a moderate success, the game didn’t live up to the expectations. The Megaclusters game engine hasn’t turned out to be a game changer like its Megaways counterpart.

It did deliver a thrilling visual experience, which prompted Big Time Gaming to create a new release titled Star Cluster Megapays. With the added excitement of the progressive jackpot feature, available at any given moment, players can look forward to a rollercoaster of excitement and more than enough winning opportunities.

A Lot to Play for

With the top-tier Mega Jackpot seeding at €300,000, slot enthusiasts are going to be tempted to give this game a go. Compared to the original, the core mechanic and the list of available features have stayed the same, although the maths mode has changed.

First of all, the bonus round comes with an increased win potential, offering payouts of up to 27,050x the stake. At the same time, the RTP has decreased to 96.27%, with 9.44% feeding the slot’s progressive jackpots.

Players win by forming winning clusters consisting of at least five matching symbols, landed on adjacent reels, vertically and/or horizontally. High-paying symbols award prizes of up to 50x the stake for twenty-five or more symbols of the same kind in a cluster. As usual, the Wild will replace all regular icons to help form additional wins.

Slot Features

Like in the original title, the Reaction mechanic plays a crucial role. However, instead of removing the winning symbols, the game engine splits them into four smaller ones. This further increases your odds of winning. If the smaller icons trigger a win, they will be removed from the reels, with new symbols of the same size dropping onto the grid. The process keeps on repeating until no more wins are created.

Star Cluster Megapays features two Wilds. In addition to the regular one, you’ll also find the Gold Wild, which comes with a multiplier starting at 1x. Every win involving a Gold Wild boosts the multiplier value by one. Up to two Gold Wilds can be active at the same time, while the multiplier resets between the Main Game spins.

You’ll need a minimum of five consecutive reactions to activate the game’s bonus round. Players receive two spins plus an extra spin for every additional reaction above five. Any existing Gold Wild multiplier is carried over from the Main Game. Every time the multiplier increases by ten, you’ll get two additional spins added to your count. The multiplier takes place on an eight-reel, eight-row grid, with the Reactions mechanic providing up to 256 smaller symbols.

The Megapays jackpot can be randomly activated on any spin. When that happens, a low-value icon is picked as the special Megapays symbol. The respin feature starts, with the special symbol remaining in its position whenever it appears on the reels The process also awards another respin, moving the player up the jackpot ladder. Respins end once there are no more new Megapays symbols. The number of Megapays symbols determines your prize:

• Four to seven Megapays award the Mini jackpot.
• Eight to eleven Megapays award the Midi jackpot.
• Twelve to fourteen Megapays awards the Major jackpot. This prize seeds at €20,000.
• Fifteen or more Megapays are needed to deliver the Mega jackpot, seeding at €300,000.
