Home News & Articles Claim the Dark Wizard’s Treasure in Tower Quest Legacy

An evil sorcerer sits atop his tower, commanding dark armies and threatening the world. It’s up to the players to lead the charge, bring him down, and pick up some exciting loot along the way. Tower Quest Legacy promises a fun fantasy romp with several thrilling features that will keep you entertained for hours.

We go over everything you need to know about this Play’n GO release in this review. Is it the right game for you? Keep reading to find out.

Tower Quest Legacy Visuals & Sounds

Play’n GO’s art team does a great job of bringing this fantasy world to life. The brief intro video and backdrop do a great job of demonstrating how impossibly tall the wizard’s lair is. You can see the twisting steps and the clouds surrounding you. Tomes, gold coins, and scrolls lay abandoned, making it clear we’re only seeing a moment of peace in what’s otherwise a chaotic battle.

Symbol designs include the male and female elven warriors, dragons, skeletons, orcs, and playing card royals. The Dark Tower is the Wild, while the evil sorcerer activates the bonus round. You’ll also want to watch for Red and Blue Flasks, which fill their respective meters and unlock extra bonuses.

We like the music, as it perfectly captures the dread of preparing for a difficult battle. Play’n GO also did a great job with the sound effects. Spinning the reels feels weighty, and you hear the liquid pouring out each time a flask appears.

Tower Quest Legacy Gameplay & Features

Tower Quest Legacy uses a 5×3 playing area with 20 fixed paylines. To win, players must collect three symbols left to right on adjacent reels. Winning combinations must start with the leftmost reel. It’s clear Play’n GO opted for standard gameplay and instead decided to spice things up using the game’s many features.

Bonus Game

It’s clear the rising popularity of fantasy card games inspired the bonus game in Tower Quest Legacy. At the start of the round, you pick the male or female elven warrior as your fighter. You activate the feature by collecting three dark wizard Scatters on the first, third, and fifth reels.

The bonus game consists of multiple rounds. At the start of each round, both you and the wizard pick three face-down cards. This reveals monsters with different attack and defence values, which will fight the creatures opposite of them. If a card’s attack value is higher than the opponent’s defence value, it will destroy it and award a random prize. Each destroyed card also inflicts one point of damage to either you or the wizard.

If two identical cards appear on the field, it reduces the overall life of the enemy and all their cards by 1. Meanwhile, three matching cards achieve the same effect while doubling the attack value of all cards.

The feature keeps going until your hero or the wizard is defeated. Successfully killing the sorcerer awards 100x your total bet, which is added to all other prizes you won.

Flask Meters

On each side of the reels, you can see a meter. These fill when either the Red or Blue Flask appears on the grid. Each meter is split into three levels, unlocking stronger features as each segment gets filled.

After collecting enough flasks, players can immediately activate the feature or wait until it reaches the next level. If the meter fills completely, the feature automatically fires. You cannot activate the Red Flask and Blue Flask features simultaneously.

The Red Flask Meter consists of three levels:

  • Level one is unlocked after getting 10 Red Flasks. It awards 5 free spins, during which a 3x multiplier is applied to all Wilds.
  • Level two becomes available after 20 Red Flasks are collected. This grants 5 free spins and turns the two highest-paying symbols into Wilds.
  • Level three triggers when 30 Red Flasks completely fill the meter. Players get 5 free spins and guaranteed Sticky Wilds that persist until the bonus ends.

The Blue Flask Meter also has three levels, which you unlock as follows:

  • The first level can kick off once players collect 5 Blue Flasks. This triggers a single re-spin, during which the centre reel becomes a Wild with a 2x multiplier.
  • The second level becomes available after 10 Blue Flasks appear. This grants one re-spin and turns the five high-paying symbols into Wilds.
  • The third level activates when 15 Blue Flasks are picked up. This starts a re-spin feature, with reels one, three, and five becoming Wild.

Tower Quest Legacy RTP and Payouts

Tower Quest Legacy comes with an above-average RTP of 96.28% and a top prize of 1,500x your stake. It’s not a fantastic payout, but works well with the slot’s low-medium volatility.

We didn’t expect to enjoy Tower Quest Legacy as much as we have. The card game bonus round was a nice change of pace, though we wish it weren’t completely random. A bit of strategizing would have made it more interesting! The two Flask Meter features were also fantastic, ensuring something fun was always happening. Because of that, we at OnlineGambling24.com are happy to recommend this slot.
