If you have a sweet tooth, Playtech’s latest slot is something you won’t want to miss. It takes us on a trip to a candy shop, filled to the brim with colourful, delicious treats. There are lots of mouth-watering sweets waiting for you – which one will you stuff your pockets with?
Join us for a thorough review of the Bubblegum Burst slot. We’ll explore its visuals, gameplay, and bonus features to see if this game is worth playing.
Bubblegum Burst Visuals & Sounds
Playtech’s release doesn’t reinvent the wheel when it comes to its graphics. Behind the reels, you can see shelves filled with all kinds of candies in different shapes and sizes. The shop is vibrant and full of colour during regular gameplay. Meanwhile, activating the free spins feature applies a blue tint to the backdrop. Occasionally, a slight glow passes through the background, illuminating some of the treats on the shelf.
The symbols follow the theme, all being some form of candy. The few icons that aren’t are usually related somehow, such as the game’s logo being a box of wrapped sweets or the up arrow being made of jelly. Hats off to Playtech for keeping it both sweet and simple.
We don’t have much to say about the music. It’s good enough to keep you humming along, but you won’t remember it afterwards. The developer has added numerous sound effects that play when you activate bonus features, which is a nice touch.
Bubblegum Burst Gameplay & Features
The Bubblegum Burst slot uses a 6×5 playing area with a pay-anywhere system. Thanks to that, forming wins is as simple as getting eight or more matching symbols in adjacent positions. The more icons are included in the winning combination, the greater your winnings will be.
Cascading Pays
Every time a win happens, the winning symbols explode and disappear from the reels. Icons already on the playing area drop to fill any empty spots, while new symbols appear from the top. Cascades continue as long as new winning combinations become available.

Plinko
Bubblegum Burst has not one, but five dynamic jackpots. Every time the slot’s logo lands, it has a chance to increase the prize attached to one of these rewards. Each bubblegum can increase the reward up to 20% of its initial value. That said, each prize cannot be increased more than 5x its starting value.
This same bubblegum symbol also has a chance to activate the Plinko feature. A gumball falls down a Plinko triangle, eventually landing in one of five buckets at the bottom of the screen. Each bucket is colour-coded and corresponds to one of the five dynamic jackpots. When three balls fall in one bucket, the feature ends with players winning the matching dynamic bonus.
The initial bonus values for the five jackpots are as follows:
- Mini – 5x
- Minor – 20x
- Major – 50x
- Grand – 250x
- Mega – 1,000x
Free Spins
Four or more lollipop Scatters activate the Free Spins feature, which awards 9 free spins. The bonus consists of 10 levels, each with 5 steps. Before the free spins begin, a wheel spins to determine how many steps you start with. As you advance through the levels, the multiplier increases. It starts at 2x and can climb up to 100x.
Each cascade that happens increases the steps by one. Once you get five steps, you level up and get three more free spins. You can also level up immediately if three or more up arrow symbols show up on the reels. The bonus ends when the number of free spins hits zero.
Extra Bet
If you’re willing to raise your total bet per spin, you can double your chances to activate the Free Spins bonus. Enabling the Extra Bet will increase your wager by 25%. However, it doesn’t increase the payouts of symbols.
Bonus Buy
You have the option to play 9 free spins immediately using the Bonus Buy feature. However, skipping the queue will cost you 75x your total stake every spin.
Bubblegum Burst RTP and Payouts
Playtech’s release has an RTP of 95.88%, which is good, if slightly lower than what we usually see from the developer. Bubblegum Burst’s top prize is 5,000x your wager, which is alright for a high-volatility game.
