Play’n GO Continues Its Gem Series with Forge of Gems

Play’n GO kicked off its Gem series with Perfect Gems and continued with Frozen Gems and  Prism Gems. Now, it’s time for the fourth instalment in the developer’s popular series. Titled Forge of Gems, the new release is expected to be as popular as its predecessors. With a Forge Reel filled with modifying symbols, multipliers, Free Spins, and increasing winning ways, we’re sure players won’t lack any excitement.

Get Ready to Forge

The main playing area, consisting of five reels and three rows, is set against an actual forge, while a special Forge Reel sits above the board. There are no traditional paylines, and instead, the slot offers from 243 to 36,288 different ways to win. Volatility is very high, with Play’n GO rating it ten out of ten. RTP is available in different configurations, while the default one is 96.20%. Playable on any device, Forge of Gems comes with comprehensive wagering options, allowing slot enthusiasts to place any stake ranging from $0.10 to $100 per spin.

Moving on to the paytable, we see low-value playing card symbols, paying up to 0.4x the stake for five of a kind. Gems are worth more, although their payouts won’t be able to exceed 1x your bet for a winning combination of five matching icons. The Diamond is the Wild, substituting for regular symbols to help form additional wins and paying up to 3x the stake for landing five anywhere on the reels.

Features Aplenty

Forge of Gems promises plenty of excitement, with several exciting features ready to entertain players. The list of available functionalities includes cascades, modifiers, and Free Spins. Don’t forget the Forge Reel.

Cascades

Every time a winning combination is formed, the cascade feature will remove all triggering symbols from the reels. Symbols from the Forge Reel then drop onto the grid to fill the empty positions, potentially forming new wins. The process continues as long as new combinations are created.

Forge Reel

After cascades activate the Forge Reel, you‘ll see special symbols come into play, dropping on the reels and activating a modifier:

• Multiplier – the win multiplier goes up by one. The value of the win multiplier resets between spins.
• Vertical Wild – this modifier turns all icons into Wilds, except Scatters.
• Horizontal Wild – matching symbols in the same row turn into Wilds.
• Horizontal Splitter – splits all symbols within the same row, except Scatters. The modifier also acts as a Wild.
• Blank Symbols – they stay on the grid until a new cascade is triggered.

Free Spins

The Red Jewel Scatter can appear anywhere on the reels. You must land at least three of them to trigger the Free Spins bonus round, also known as the Gembox bonus. In addition to a specific amount of spins, players will receive a payout depending on the number of Scatters used to unlock the feature:

• Three Scatters award eight or ten spins, plus a payout of 20x the bet.
• Four Scatters award ten or fifteen freebies and pay 30x the stake.
• Five Scatters award ten, fifteen, or twenty spins and a prize of 40x the stake.

Blank symbols won‘t be making their appearance on the Forge Reel during the Gembox feature, while a multiplier is guaranteed to appear. The best part is that its value doesn‘t reset between spins, significantly boosting the winning potential. Unfortunately, since Scatters don‘t appear in Free Spins, it‘s not possible to retrigger the round.
