Pragmatic Play is no stranger to revisiting great ideas in their games. However, with the number of recently released titles in the Big Bass series, we were expecting them to run dry on fishing-themed slots. Big Bass Reel Repeat proves us wrong, as it takes the familiar setting and gives it a retro-futuristic coat of paint.
What can you expect from this Pragmatic Play release? Find out by reading this OnlineGambling24.com breakdown of the game’s visuals, features, and payouts.
Big Bass Reel Repeat Visuals & Sounds
If you’ve played previous Big Bass slots, the backdrop will be immediately familiar to you. There are some changes, such as a futuristic-looking boat floating atop the water. That said, Pragmatic Play didn’t make any sweeping changes. Most of the visuals are beneath the waves, where fish swim freely in the clear water. Up above, you can see the distant coast, complete with faraway trees and clouds that give the game a warm, welcoming look.
Available symbols include playing card royals, fish, a box full of bait, laser guns, dragonflies, and teleporting boats. The release also has special icons that come with various special effects. This includes the fisherman Wild, bass Scatter, and fish money symbol.
Pragmatic Play’s release leans heavily into the synth soundtrack you would expect from this retro-futuristic title. It can get a bit repetitive after a while, but it’s more than satisfying in short bursts. Each win and feature trigger plays loud sound effects, drawing your attention to a win.
Big Bass Reel Repeat Gameplay & Features
Big Bass Reel Repeat features a 5×3 grid with 10 fixed paylines. Winning combinations must start with the leftmost reel and contain at least three matching symbols following an active payline.

Money Symbols
All fish icons appear with attached cash prizes ranging from 2x to 5,000x your stake. These rewards are inaccessible during normal gameplay – you must trigger the Free Spins feature to get them. During that bonus feature, money icons can appear as 2×2 or 3×3 giant symbols.
Free Spins
Three or more Scatters appearing on the reels simultaneously will award up to 20 free spins. Before the feature starts, players pick one from 12 possible cards to reveal random modifiers. Possible modifiers include:
- More Fish – adds more money symbols to the reels
- Higher Multipliers – Retriggering free spins increases the multiplier you receive
- 3 Fisherman to Retrigger – only three instead of four Wilds need to be collected to cause a feature retrigger.
- Mega – activates all three modifiers
While the Free Spins feature is active, any Wilds present on the screen will collect cash prizes attached to visible money symbols. The game also collects each Wild that lands on the grid. Once four are collected, you receive 10 more free spins, and the multiplier increases. You can retrigger the feature four times.
Random Features
During free spins, several random bonus features can activate.
- If a Wild appears with no money symbols, some may be added to random positions.
- If money icons show up without a Wild, one may be pulled up and appear on the screen
- If a Wild is on the screen with no money icons, the game may change all symbols except the Wild
Ante Bet
Big Bass Reel Repeat has not one, but three Ante bets. Each one increases your chance of forming wins and unlocking bonus features by increasing how much you pay.
- 15x bet multiplier increases your chance of getting the Free Spins feature
- 16x bet multiplier can randomly cause the Free Spins feature to repeat
- 25x bet multiplier activates both effects
Buy Free Spins
Pragmatic Play’s release offers three ways to buy the Free Spins feature.
- The 100x option awards standard free spins
- The 160x option grants free spins with a guaranteed repeat at the end
- The 1,250x option activates free spins with a guaranteed Mega modifier
Big Bass Reel Repeat RTP and Payouts
The game has an RTP of 96.51%, which remains consistent across all of the Ante Bet and Buy Free Spins features. You can win up to 5,000x playing this slot, which isn’t half bad. However, you should keep its high volatility in account when deciding whether to give it a chance.
