As Halloween draws closer and the barrier between the human and demon worlds weakens, countless evil creatures slip through. It’s up to the slayers, a secretive order of warriors, to defeat the demons and send them packing back into hell. The Soul Slayer slot invites you to partake in one of their hunts, where every spin is a battle for survival.

Do you have what it takes to thrive in this Stakelogic game? Find out by reading our in-depth review of the Soul Slayer slot.

Soul Slayer Visuals

The game has decent graphics. Nothing that will blow your socks off, but it’s perfectly serviceable. The background depicts a city street, though Stakelogic hasn’t really done much to decorate it, aside from a few shrubs and lamp posts. That said, there are a few subtle effects we like, such as light rays reflecting off the windows. The team even snuck their own logo in the backdrop, just to remind you whose slot you’re playing.

Available symbols include playing card royals, vampires, orcs, and a variety of demons. Both the slayer and his sword play the role of Wild, while the word ‘Bonus’, surrounded by flames and devil horns, is the Scatter. There are also orange and blue portals, which can appear during one of the game’s bonus features.

Soul Slayer Gameplay and Features

This Stakelogic release uses a 6×5 grid with 40 fixed paylines. To win, you need to land at least three matching symbols from left to right following an active payline. All winning combinations must start with the leftmost reel.

Soul Slayer video slot base gameplay
Enter the Demon World as the Slayer – battle foes, slay demons, and turn spins into epic wins.

Wild Slayer

Slayer Wilds are a special Wild that only appears on the first reel during normal gameplay. If it lands alongside a demon symbol, it activates the Wild Slayer feature. During the bonus, the game chooses one type of visible demon and turns it into a regular Wild. These regular Wilds can randomly receive a multiplier ranging from 2x to 5x.

Incursion

The Incursion feature can randomly trigger during the base game. Between 5 and 20 portals appear in random positions, revealing high-value demon symbols. The rest of the round plays out normally, with the summoned demons reserving their spots on the grid for that one round.

Slayer Feature

Activating the Slayer feature requires landing a Slayer Wild on the same spin that the Incursion bonus round triggers. Once again, portals will appear, revealing high-value demons. The Slayer Wild will move against them, slaughtering all demons that appear through the portals and leaving Wilds and Multiplier Wilds in their place.

Combat Feature

Four or more Scatters unlock the Combat feature, which is played on a separate 6×5 playing area. The first reel shows the slayer, while his demonic opponent always occupies the sixth reel. Slaying one will reveal the next demon you have to fight.

There are three levels to the Combat feature. In each one, you have to defeat three demons before facing off against a boss. As the levels progress, both the demons and bosses become more challenging. As such, you’ll require both luck and skill to succeed in this Soul Slayer bonus round.

Between reels one and six, a variety of symbols appear every round. Coin symbols and multipliers add their value to the slayer and the demon, increasing how much you’ll win when the feature ends. Each demon you slay adds its coin total to your own, so you’ll want to get as far into this bonus round as possible.

The way you’ll do so is by getting lucky with the combat symbols. On reels two and three, the sword and shotgun can land, dealing 300 and 100 damage to the demon, respectively. On reels four and five, teeth and claw icons allow the demon to inflict the same amount of damage to the slayer. There’s also a healing potion that both sides can benefit from, healing up to 300 HP.

Super Stake and Buy Bonus

Enabling Super Stake doubles your chances of triggering the Combat feature. However, it does so by slightly increasing your total bet. The higher bet doesn’t translate to better paytable rewards, so keep that in mind.

Alternatively, you can skip the grind altogether and buy your way into the Combat bonus round. Doing so will cost 100x your stake.

Soul Slayer RTP and Payouts

The RTP for the Soul Slayer slot is 96.01%, which is average compared to most games we review. This is a highly volatile game with a 5,000x top prize awaiting the luckiest players.

Overall, we enjoyed our time playing this title. While the visuals are nothing special, the gameplay and bonus features more than make up for it. We especially enjoyed the Combat feature, where every win feels like you’ve barely scraped through. As such, the OnlineGambling24.com team is happy to recommend this slot.
