We love video slots that try something different, and The Arrow definitely fits that bill. BGaming took the name of their game quite literally, as the playing area is an upward-facing arrow. The title features gorgeous graphics, smooth animations, and straightforward, fun features that create opportunities for big wins.
Our first impressions were good, but will we feel the same way after a more thorough review? Keep reading to find out.
The Arrow Visuals & Sounds
BGaming describes The Arrow slot’s backdrop as retrowave, and the monicker certainly fits. Palm trees zoom past the edges of the screen while a bright yellow sun hangs above the road. In the distance, you can see the outlines of a sprawling city – but no matter how long you drive, it always remains out of reach. In the middle of it all is the arrow, pointing you to your final destination.
The game doesn’t have regular paying symbols. Instead, the central cell only shows the win amount, which is a numerical value. Adjacent reels can show multipliers, the Wheel bonus icon and a blue circle re-spin symbol. It’s different to what we’re used to seeing, but that just adds to this title’s charm.
We like the upbeat, old-school track playing in the background as you play. It’s delightfully retro and does a fantastic job of giving the game an 80’s feel. We’re also big fans of the sound effects, which draw your attention to feature triggers and wins but aren’t obnoxious.
The Arrow Gameplay & Features
If you’re looking for a unique gameplay experience, The Arrow is your type of slot. It uses a 3×3 playing area shaped like an arrow. The uppermost point is the central cell, where the cash prize appears. Meanwhile, three winning lines extend from the centre cell and can only be occupied by multipliers. If a winning line is covered in multipliers, they will multiply each other.
Re-spins
Re-spin symbols can appear in every cell except the central one. They always appear with multipliers and grant one re-spin. The central cell and any multipliers remain in place, giving you an opportunity to fill any empty spots and get a better reward.
Wheel Bonus
You activate the Wheel feature by landing the bonus symbol in the centre cell. This moves the playing area to a lucky wheel labelled with cash prizes and a single Max Win position. Any multipliers that landed alongside the bonus icon will be applied to the final reward.

Chance and Buy Bonus
The Arrow slot has two bonuses that let you spend money to give yourself a better shot at winning. The first is the Chance bonus, which doubles your odds of getting the Re-spin or Wheel features. It increases your total bet by 20%, which means a $1 becomes a $1.2 wager.
Players can immediately jump into the Wheel bonus using the Buy Bonus feature. It costs 50x your total bet and lets high rollers chase the game’s jackpot.
The Arrow RTP and Payouts
We are happy to report that this release has an RTP of 97.33, beating the average by a whole percentage point. The RTP remains unchanged during the base game, as well as the Chance and Bonus Buy features.
The top prize of BGaming’s title is 3,600x your stake. While we would love it to be higher, it would probably require the game to have a higher volatility, which would mean less frequent features. The studio instead chose a medium variance, which we think is the right call.
