Ultimate Texas Hold’em is a poker variant which rose to prominence in the past few decades, mostly due to its exposure on television and the internet as well as popular literature.
Texas Hold’em has millions of online gambling fans around the world and is one of the most popular poker variations in land-based and online casinos both.
The gameplay of Texas Hold’em is different from regular poker, although the ranking hands are the same. The player and dealer get two so-called hole cards at the beginning of the game dealt face down. What makes the game different are the five extra community cards players can use to complete a five-card hand.
Ultimate Texas Hold’em is packed full of fun
The community cards are dealt in three stages – the three separate cards dealt in these stages are known as the flop, the turn, and the river. The betting takes place before the flop (third community card) is dealt and after each consequent deal. The last player standing after all the betting rounds wins all the money in the so-called pot.
Texas Hold’em is the H in HORSE and HOSE, multi-game forms of poker played in high-stakes casino tournaments. This great poker variant is very popular in land-based and online casinos and like most variants, it has its own live version called Live Ultimate Texas Hold’em.
Live Ultimate Texas Hold’em
This exciting live poker variant is developed by Evolution Gaming, the leading developer of live casino games, in collaboration with Scientific Games, another great game studio. Live Ultimate Texas Hold’em allows an unlimited number of players at the table and has exclusive features which will please poker fans. The goal is to have a better hand than the dealer with two hole cards and three community cards.
Trips Bonus Bets
Besides the Ante, Blind, and Play bets, players of Live Ultimate Texas Hold’em have the option to place the trips bonus bet. This side bet only pays for Three of a Kind or a better hand no matter what the dealer gets. The RTP of this side bet is a whopping 98.10%, which is even higher than the game’s RTP of 97.82%. It’s a good idea to keep this in mind if you have cards that might form a Three of a Kind.
How Do You Play Ultimate Texas Hold’em?
The rules for Live Ultimate Texas Hold’em don’t differ from traditional Texas Hold’em rules by much. The live dealer game is played with a standard 52-card deck. You play against the dealer unlike other poker variations where you play against others.
When the game starts, players are required to place two equal bets – the Ante and Blind. The Play side bet is available before the flop and can raise your Ante bet by 3 or 4 times. After the flop has been dealt, you can only raise the Ante by 2, and after the river (fifth community card) is dealt, you can only raise the Ante by 1.
After the initial bet, the dealer deals two cards – face down for himself, and face up for the player. This is the time when you must decide if you want to up the Ante bet by 3 or 4 times. If your first two cards are great, it makes sense – otherwise, it really doesn’t. Make your decision and then wait for the 3 community cards. Between each, you can still raise your Ante bet once or twice if you haven’t raised it before the flop. Of course, players also have the option to cancel their Ante and Blind bets.
No, it’s not. Ultimate Texas Hold’em puts you against the dealer instead of going against other players. With a variety of features you don’t get with any other variant, it really is the ultimate live poker experience.
The goal of Live Ultimate Texas Hold’em is to form a better 5-card hand than the dealer using the two dealt cards and three of the five community cards. Your poker hand must rank higher than the dealer’s, who must have at least a pair to qualify.
Before the dealer’s cards are revealed, the player must place equal Ante and Blind bets. After that, they can make a raise with the Play bet for a total of three times, while also having the option to place the bonus Trips bet.
The Live Ultimate Texas Hold’em gameplay is simple. The dealer deals two cards for himself and the player, then starts revealing the five community cards one by one. To start the game, the player is required to place an Ante and a Blind bet of equal size.
As the community cards (Flop – first 3 cards, Turn – the 4th card, and River, the 5th card) are revealed, you have three opportunities to raise the bets with the Play bet. Raising is a bit risky especially when made early, but it also gives you a chance to win big.
As we already mentioned, you need to place equal Ante and Blind bets at the beginning of the game. The dealer must have a pair to qualify – if he fails, your Ante bet is returned, while the Blind and the Trips bonus bet are paid out according to your hand value. If the dealer qualifies, you’re going to have to beat his hand with a higher ranking one. In this case, Ante bets are paid 1:1, while the other bets are paid according to the payout table.
The payouts in Live Ultimate Texas Hold’em are similar to standard poker payouts. Of course, the highest-ranking hands such as a Royal or Straight Flush have the highest payouts (500:1 and 50:1 respectively). Four of a Kind pays 10:1, a Full House pays 3:1, a Flush pays 3:2, a Straight pays 1:1, and all other hands result in a Push (tie). When the player ties the dealer, all his bets are returned except for the optional Trips side bet, which is settled separately.
When it comes to the Trips side bet, you don’t have to beat the dealer to get paid – you just need to form a Three of a Kind or better hand. Three of a Kind pays 3:1, while higher-ranking hands such as the Royal Flush pay 50:1 on this bet.
The Trips bonus bet must be placed in addition to the Ante and Blind bets. It’s a great bonus bet that pays 50:1 for a Royal Flush and 40:1 for a Straight. Remember – you don’t have to beat the dealer to win the Trips bonus bet. You just need to form a hand that pays according to the table.
Why Play Live Ultimate Texas Hold’em?
Texas Hold’em is one of the best and most popular poker variants, and this great variant adds to that experience. The opportunity to raise the Ante bet and the optional Trips side bet give players a chance to win major payouts that can go as far as 500:1 for a Royal Flush. The Trips side bet is also worthy of notice as it allows you to win a nice prize even if you have a weaker hand than the dealer.
Live Ultimate Texas Hold’em is another hit in Evolution Gaming’s amazing portfolio and is definitely a poker variant you should try.
