SG Gaming brought together two giants in the industry by merging Barcrest and The Global Draw, two companies with a long history in the gambling business.
The company operates in the betting, arcade, casino, and bingo sectors, releasing quality games which have millions of fans around the world. SG Gaming isn’t actually involved in the production of games – that role belongs to Barcrest and the other in-house companies Scientific Games Corporation has acquired over the years.
All the different teams under their belt have their own way of developing games, resulting in a diverse cast of games that should please most players.
Games Library
Thanks to the acquisition of Barcrest, The Global Draw, and Bally Technologies, SG Gaming has a huge library of games, with most of them being slots. Of course, the company produces quality table games as well, although the number is smaller compared to the slots. The studio has recently focused more of its efforts on the mobile gaming sector, developing all its games on the HTML5 platform which makes them available on different mobile platforms.

SG Gaming’s slots are innovative and fun, boasting nice artwork and intuitive game mechanics. Their most popular slot is Anchorman, a branded slot based on the popular film series Anchorman featuring everyone’s favorite newsman. Monopoly Money is one of Barcrest’s best slots in the Monopoly range, featuring big bonuses and advanced features. Wizard of Oz, The Legend of Big Foot, Iron Man, and Zeus: God of Thunder are some of the other impressive slots in their ever-growing catalog.
SG Gaming has also developed several interesting table games such as Champions Roulette, which brings the excitement of football and roulette together. There are several variations of video poker and blackjack as well in SG Gaming’s huge catalog, meaning players will be spoilt with choices.
History and Licenses
To learn more about SG Gaming’s history, we need to go back to the formation of Barcrest, one of the leading suppliers of terminals and content in the bingo and arcade sector which was found in 1968. Over the years, Barcrest became the leading provider of bingo and arcade solutions and enjoyed quite the success until it was bought by Scientific Games in 2011.
Additionally, SG Gaming also bought The Global Draw, another major company in the casino industry as well as the famous Bally Technologies in a deal reported around $3.3 billion. These acquisitions certainly improved their status in the industry, making them one of the largest producers.
The UK-based developer is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, making its games available in a number of European casinos.
