We can’t say we’re big fans of the board game. But the Monopoly Big Event slot? We’d play that all day long! Read OG24’s review to learn all the ins and outs of this elaborate Barcrest release.
The popularity of Monopoly surprises us each time. We played a whole heap of board games when we were younger, before we got addicted to the internet. And whenever Monopoly came up, we just decided to play something else.
That said, there is one good thing that came from it. And that’s this Barcrest slot! There’s a lot of special features awaiting lucky players. Will you be one of them?
Monopoly Big Event Slot Review
Monopoly Big Event is played on a five reel board, where each reel is three symbols tall. Gamblers have access to a total of twenty paylines, which cannot be turned on or off. To win, collect three or more identical icons, starting with the leftmost reel. All wins must follow one of twenty active paylines, or else the cash prize won’t be awarded.
As the name implies, it’s all about the Big Event! Depending on the number of Scatters that trigger it, you can get additional special features on top of the Big Event. Small bonuses like locking Wilds and dancing Wilds, which enhance your wins, but don’t radically change them. Players also get a certain number of guaranteed wins in the bonus. You can keep track of those using the meter!
Theme & Symbols
While we’re not fans of the original board game, we can appreciate the effort that went into recreating it. You’ll recognize the figurines if you’ve ever had the displeasure of playing Monopoly! The special features also borrow the card draw mechanic. They obviously do something different with it, but the aesthetics are the same. For gamblers who care about immersion, that’s great news!
A crimson tint has been applied on top of the original board game, as well as a skyline of a large city. It does look stylish, but forcing one color on everyone feels a bit weird. We would appreciate it more if you could turn the red on or off. It’s all Monopoly Symbols are a mixture of playing pieces and playing card royals. The letters and numbers are the same colorful mess you’re used to seeing! There’s also the Monopoly Man giving you a thumbs up. And, as is fitting of our greedy capitalist friend, he’s the most valuable icon on the playing field.

Only the most ambitious will pursue the 250,000 jackpot.

Monopoly Big Event Payouts
Monopoly Big Event has a medium variance and a jackpot worth 250,000 coins. The slot’s RTP is 96% during normal gameplay, and 99% during Big Bet spins.
Honestly, we had a blast playing this game. Each time the Big Event is triggered, it feels different compared to the last time you activated it. That kind of gameplay diversity is very important! It keeps Barcrest’s release from feeling stale, which is very important for a long-term session. It also distinguishes this slot from many other slots.
The Positives!
The developers clearly went out of their way to make sure this slot stayed true to the board game. It’s not always perfect, mind you – the symbols come to mind here. But everything else lives and breathes Monopoly! Everything except the gameplay, that is.
Where the board game is frustrating and annoying, Monopoly Big Event is really fun! The sheer number of special features can be overwhelming at first. But once you get a handle on things? This release quickly worms its way into your heart.
If you can afford Big Bet wagers, we recommend playing them! The asking price is steep, but you get a 99% RTP, which is a huge upgrade over the usual 96%.
The Negatives.
Graphics are a bit outdated, which brings the overall experience down slightly.
Even excluding that, there are some odd design decisions. Painting the entire background red is one of them! We’d prefer if we could toggle between that and normal colors.
The fact our only nitpicks are visual should tell you how much we enjoyed playing this slot. The game is an absolute blast, from start to finish. If you’ve made it to the end of this review, you have to visit an online casino and give it a try. That’s an order!
