The game is played on a five reel board, with each reel being three symbols high. There are a total of 20 fixed paylines, which cannot be turned on or off. To win, simply collect three or more identical icons in adjacent positions, starting with the leftmost reel. All winning combinations must follow one of the active paylines, or the cash prize will not be granted.

Special features are the bread and butter of this Blueprint Gaming release. If you don’t like triggering bonuses constantly, this isn’t the right slot for you. King Kong Cash has a huge variety of special features available. It even gives you a bit of leeway in picking which ones you want to chase after. The only downside is the slight gap between the different bonuses.

Theme & Symbols

The king sleeps peacefully in his jungle kingdom, entirely unaware of the intruders that have snuck into his throne room. His treasure seemingly in range, oh so easy to reach out and grab. But just when you think you’re going to make off like the bandit you are, the trap is sprung. A heap of special features crushes you, keeping you hooked and unable to escape!

Well, that’s not the real theme, but it’s certainly how we felt playing this slot. The background image also looks quite cool. It’s colorful and varied, and it has great animations. The sleepy king even wakes up occasionally and moves about, which is a great treat. Most of the impressive visuals you will see from this game are hidden away in the various bonuses. Even more motivation to unlock them all!

Symbol design was alright, but it didn’t catch our eye. We do like the animal designs. Particularly the confused crocodile and the scummy businessman rhino! The tiger and parrot look okay. They’re still miles better than the boring playing card royals. Letters and numbers don’t bother integrating into the theme at all. Just boring filler icons.

How to Play King Kong Cash

Blueprint Gaming’s release is played on a 5×3 board with 20 fixed paylines. You cannot turn the paylines on or off, either! There is a good side to all this: King Kong Cash has a medium variance. It means all those special features are equally spaced out. So just when you’re getting a little bit bored, another bonus is activated to save the day!

There’s less special features in total than in Inspector Gadget, but that slot was an anomaly. We can’t say we expect any developer to consistently deliver games with thirteen bonuses! This release goes for a much more manageable number: nine in total.

King Kong Cash is played on 20 fixed paylines. As such, its minimum bet, worth €0.20, seems like a fair asking price to us. Meanwhile, your maximum stake goes up to €200 per spin. Great for high rollers who are hoping to win big by grabbing the 1000x jackpot!

Bonus Features

There are two types of special features available. One are bonuses that activate when Sleepy Kong wakes up. The other type requires players to use Scatters to trigger them. We’ll take a look at Sleepy Kong’s special features first.

• Banana Cannon

The king fires bananas from his cannon. When they land on the reels, they turn a random cluster of icons into Wilds.

• Golden Barrel Super Spin

Kong throws a barrel in the middle of the reels. The barrel blows up, adding even more barrels to the reels. After the explosions finish, all barrels transform into a single matching symbol.

• King Kong Spin Streak

The sleepy monarch whacks the reels with a giant mallet after a winning spin. All successful wins are held in place and a re-spin is played. So long as new icons are added to the winning combination, re-spins continue.

• Bonus Boost

Kong adds extra Scatters to the reels, increases your odds of activating the other type of bonuses.



To win one of these special features, players have to collect at least three or more Scatters. If you win a bonus that you do not like, you can gamble to try and win a better one. If you fail to improve the special feature, you win a mystery cash prize instead.

• Barrel Blast

Click through the various barrels. Find three matching symbols to win the appropriate cash prize. You can also find three golden monkeys, which activates the Big Monkey Bonus.

• King Kong Trail

You play on a different board, made to look similar to a retro platformer. Here, you start on the first stage, where you (again) pick from various barrels. The barrels let Kong climb up the building, increasing the multipliers. You can also draw golden monkeys, which skip directly to the Big Monkey special feature, or a bomb, which ends this bonus early.

• Empire Free Spins

The gambler is taken to the top of the Empire State building with multiple reels visible. The goal is to use your free spins to collect as many golden monkeys as possible. This allows you to advance to the next set of reels, which grants further upgrades. You also get more free spins each time you complete a level.

• Golden Kong Free Spins

This special feature is played on a 5×4 board with 40 fixed paylines. On each free spin, all Wilds will be collected until the free spins end. Then, separate Wild Spins are played, during which all collected Wilds return to the reels in random positions. After a spin ends, online gamblers get three barrels. The barrel can reveal a golden donkey for another spin, or a bomb to end the bonus.

• Big Monkey

Kong sits in the center of the screen, surrounded by barrels. When barrels stop spinning, they grant a cash prize. Players can then pick a banana from the sides of the carousel, which reveals a Golden Monkey which re-spins the barrels. It can also reveal a Bomb which ends the bonus early.
