Over the years, we have seen many game shows come and go. Following the success of money wheels, large software providers like Playtech introduced new elements to make them stand out. The Greatest Cards Show continues that trend, using a 54-segment wheel and combining each section with a corresponding card.

Despite the novel approach, the core gameplay loop will be familiar to gameshow enthusiasts. The wheel still determines the winner – the difference is that players are chasing specific cards instead of numbers or symbols. Game Features & Gameplay

The Greatest Cards Show’s gameplay may feel familiar, but it still takes some getting used to. You can set a variety of wagers, whether they cover specific cards, numbers, or a range of numbers. Placing more bets increases your odds of winning and raises the cost of playing every round.

Playtech’s release has three bonus features you can play. These are the Spotlights, Light Show, and Jokers extras. The first two are activated by winning with a special card, while Joker triggers by the wheel picking a Joker card.

Silver-bordered cards activate Spotlight. During the feature, three spotlights appear in the center of the screen, each with a randomly selected multiplier assigned to them. The winning card then appears and walks to one of the three positions. The spotlight under which the card stops is the winner and awards its payout to the player. It can award a payout ranging from 50x to 2,000x.

Cards with a golden border trigger the Light Show. Players pick one of three colored lightbulbs during the bonus feature: green, yellow, or blue. The game displays a grid of twenty lights, each with a random multiplier attached. Each bulb shoots out a beam, which bounces across the grid and selects one of the displayed multipliers. You get the reward associated with the color you picked.

You can draw multiple consecutive Joker cards, which boosts the multiplier of the bonus round. The second, third, and fourth Jokers multiply by 2x, 4x, and 8x. Any subsequent Joker cards increase payouts by an additional 2x.

The Joker bonus pits four card suits in a duel against each other. Players pick which card they think will win the fight at the start of the feature. There are two one-on-one duels where card suits juggle balls. The cards that drop the balls first lose and become third-place cards. Finally, two winning cards compete as magicians, with the card that draws the rabbit from a hat taking first place.

The first-place card gets the biggest reward from the feature. Meanwhile, the runner-up gets the second-highest prize, and the losing cards receive the lowest payout.

Betting Options

The wheel has 54 segments, each corresponding to a card in a deck. That includes 52 numbered cards and two jokers that activate a feature. Additionally, each numbered position has the same payout of 40x your total stake. Since there is no overlap, each card has an equal chance to be drawn.

Players can place bets on individual cards, numbers, or a range of numbers. The latter wagers cover more positions, making wins more likely. However, these bets also require you to put more money down.

Interface

Playtech has done a great job designing a straightforward interface that even new players can understand. The bottom of the screen is dedicated to the betting board that lists each number you can find in the deck. Each number has four segments corresponding to suits, allowing you to bet on a specific card or all cards with that number.

The bottom left corner displays your current balance and how much you are betting in the current round. Meanwhile, the bottom right corner shows the winning suit and number for the past couple of games. Players can also open extra options by selecting the three bars in the upper left corner.
