Greek Gods

Ancient Greece has shaped the modern world in a way few other ever could. There were more influential empires, certainly. But even they drew on the knowledge and the culture left behind by the Greeks.

Pragmatic Play has decided to pay homage to this influential civilization in their latest slot venture. But is this game truly worthy of the Greek Gods?

Or is it a release destined to be cast off of Mount Olympus?

Greek Gods Slot Review

The slot is played on a five reel board with 243 ways to win instead of traditional paylines. The graphics are okay, but they’re nothing to write home about. We like the golden shine the entire game has. It certainly beats the generic white pillars we usually see in these types of releases. If you’re particularly eagle eyed, you might notice the slowly moving clouds in the distance. It’s a minor effect, but we found it quite cool.

Symbol designs are alright. At this point, long term readers are aware we’re not huge fans of playing card royals. Especially when the developers don’t make any effort to make them fit with the larger theme! The chalice, harp, Hera and Zeus icons make up for them, though. We were expecting some more deities, given the slot’s name. But Zeus and his loving wife will just have to do for the time being!

Plenty of bonuses to look forward to in this game, too. There’s a small tile above each reel, which shows a random prize. When a full stack of Scatters appears in that reel, it awards the displayed prize. It can be a money prize or a trigger to the other two special features. The first is the Wheel of Fortune, where you can randomly snag up to 1000x your total stake. The second is a free spins mode, with lots of possible retriggers to increase the duration of this bonus.

How to Play Greek Gods

You play this Pragmatic Play release on a 5×3 board with 243 ways to win. Rather than following paylines, any winning combination that meets the criteria will pay the appropriate prize. And what are the criteria, you ask? You simply need three or more identical symbols in adjacent positions, starting with the leftmost reel. The top prize you can win is worth 1000x your total stake. You can play this slot for real money in an online casino that offer Pragmatic Play slots.

Bonus Features

Greek Gods are well known for bestowing their favor onto mortals. Let’s see what sort of blessings they’ve prepared for their loyal worshippers!

  • Wheel of Fortune:
  • This bonus can only be activated during free spins. It spins an actual wheel of fortune, with the arrow determining the awarded cash prize. The prize you can win ranges from 10x to 1000x your total stake. So if you want to win this slot’s jackpot, you have a very clear path on how to do it!

  • Free Spins:
  • Hit five or more Scatters to activate free spins. You can also trigger it via the random award. During free spins, all five reels have the random awards active. You start with eight free spins, and can increase that number drastically using both free spin activation methods. Through retriggers, you can get up to 40 free spins on the same spin! There’s also no limit on how many retriggers you can do, so go wild!

Our Verdict

We’d be lying if we said we didn’t have fun with this slot. But it’s not the best work Pragmatic Play have ever done. Compare it to Wolf Gold, and the difference becomes obvious. It’s a good game, but not a great one. Here’s hoping Pragmatic’s next venture is a little more successful.
