The Wild Wheel slot is not one to be taken lightly. If you’re not careful, you’ll quickly find yourself dizzy! So read our review to learn how to maximize your odds of winning big.
At These Casinos You Can Play Safely For Real Money
You’d make a big mistake if you dismissed this slot over its simple visuals. We’re the first ones to be disappointed, believe us. Especially since Push Gaming usually delivers such gorgeous visuals, like in Tiki Torches!
But graphics aren’t the be-all, end-all of any game. At the end of the day, players care about two things. Is it fun, and how much can I win?
Wild Wheel Slot Review
Wild Wheel is played on a five reel board, with each reel being three symbols tall. There are a total of 20 paylines, which you cannot turn on and off. To win, collect three or more identical icons in adjacent positions, starting with the leftmost reel. All winning combinations must follow one of the active paylines, or the cash prize won’t be granted.
There’s plenty of special features to go around, so feel free to indulge! Nudging Wilds help you land stacked Wilds on the board. And you’ll need those stacked Wilds to unlock the bonus wheel! The spin of the aforementioned wheel determines whether you get a cash prize, a wheel upgrade, or free spins. You also get the option to accept what special feature you’ve won from the wheel, or to try your luck again.
Theme & Symbols
For us to like or dislike a theme, we actually need one to exist in the first place. The gameplay is quite strong, which makes the absence of the theme all the more disappointing. They could have gone with some kind of tacky game show. It would leave room for some humor to be thrown into the mix, alongside the pretty visuals. Wild Wheel Gameplay Simple is sometimes best, and this background image proves it. A solid, dark blue color, with light blue dots evenly spaced out in a circle. Occasionally, a small flash of white lights up the blue dots, and then disappears a few moments later. It’s sleek and elegant. We quite like it!
Unfortunately, symbol design isn’t nearly as interesting. It’s about as generic as you’d expect a wealth-themed release to be. Playing card royals are the core filler that litters the playing field. Then, you have more valuable icons. These include stacked coins, wads of cash, metal bars, gold safes, piggy banks and briefcases full of moolah. The Wild Wheel itself is the Wild symbol, and is used to trigger the bonus wheel feature.
How to Play Wild Wheel
The slot is played on a 5×3 board with 20 fixed paylines. The volatility sits somewhere between low and medium. Wins are frequent, but they never really go anywhere. You can still earn some decent prizes, don’t get us wrong. But anything substantial is incredibly rare. If you win it, you’ll do it during the wheel special feature.
And while there are a lot of bonuses, there’s just one that really counts. The wheel special feature is the only one that can award a good jackpot. Free spins are a close second, since they combine the second, third and fourth reel into a single mega reel. But unless you’re stupidly lucky, and somehow get multiple five-of-a-kind wins in all positions, you won’t bet the fully upgraded wheel jackpot.
Tap the Total Bet button to open a menu. Here, you can see all the wagers available to gamblers. Pick the one that suits you best, and get started! Casual players and low-budget online gamblers can rejoice, as they only have to pay €0.20 to play this game. Meanwhile, high rollers are capped at €100 on each spin as maximum. The best prize you can get is the 1500x jackpot, available from the fully upgraded bonus wheel.
Bonus Features
At first glance, there are a lot of special features available in Push Gaming’s release. However, a great number of them only serve to enhance the ‘core’ bonuses. Keep your focus on the free spins and the Wild Wheel special feature. Everything else is just an extra to enhance your experience.
Nudging Wilds
When one or two Wilds land on the playing field, there’s a chance the reel will nudge up and down. If this nudge happens, a full stack of three Wilds will cover that reel.
Wild Wheel
If you get three full reels of Wilds on the second, third and fourth reel, you win the bonus wheel! The wheel spins, awarding one of three prizes. An instant cash prize, free spins, or a wheel upgrade. There are three wheel levels, and each one comes with better cash prizes. To win that promised jackpot, you’ll have to get all the way to level three. Fingers crossed!
Free Spins
The number of free spins that are played is determined by the number on the wheel tile. During this special feature, the second, third and fourth reel are locked together. They behave like one giant reel, and will always have the same icons appear.
Take it or Leave it
If you get an Instant Win or Free Spins, you have a choice to spin the wheel again. This does give you another shot at upgrading the wheel. But be careful! This offer is only given twice per wheel level.
Wild Wheel Payouts
The slot has a low to medium volatility and a jackpot worth 1500x your total stake. The game’s RTP is 96.98%, which is almost a whole percentage point above the current industry average.
When you put it all together, this is one of the better Push Gaming releases we have played. The variety of bonuses make it quite engaging, although it’s obvious there’s one superior way to play. We hope you like the Wild Wheel special feature. Because you’ll be seeing plenty of it while hunting the jackpot.
The Positives!
Despite the somewhat low variance, the top prize is quite impressive. We’ve seen slots with medium volatilities that offer less valuable jackpots.
The numerous bonuses keep gameplay engaging and fun. Free spins with locked reels, upgradable wheels and nudging Wilds all ensure a diverse experience with each spin.
The RTP is well above the expected average, which deserves a shout-out of its own. Good work, Push Gaming!
The Negatives..
We like the graphics, but the absence of a theme muddles that enjoyment. It’s our one major gripe with this slot.
There’s also clearly one superior way to play, and that’s upgrading wheels. We’d dislike this more, if it weren’t for the Take it or Leave it special feature.
It’s an easy recommendation for us. The game is not without its flaws, but they’re quite minor. Try your luck at the Wild Wheel – you might be pleasantly surprised!
