Stellar Spins Slot Review

The game is played on a five-reel board, with ten fixed paylines. The reels are semi-transparent, allowing you to drink in the awesome view you can see beneath them! It goes to show you don’t need a lot of effort to make a good-looking background. A stylized aerial photo of the Earth is more than enough! A few animations here and there would have been nice, but they’re not necessary.

What holds this release back isn’t the background image. It’s the lack of an actual theme! As such, symbol designs fail to follow up on the awesome groundwork the aerial photo laid. We get colorful clubs, diamonds, spades and hearts, a pink diamond, and three lucky sevens with different color combinations. The sevens have a planet motif, and use the rings surrounding the planet to indicate value. So if your seven’s planet has three rings, it’s the most valuable one!

Stellar Spins shines brightest when all of its special features are in play. First up are stacked Wilds, which can appear partially or completely on the third reel. There’s also a free spins bonus with an expanding icon mechanic. Similar to slots inspired by Book of Dead, but without the expanded symbol acting like a Scatter. Lastly, you can activate two-ways-pay temporarily by collecting a bonus icon from the playing field.

How to Play Stellar Spins

You play this game on a 5×3 playing field with ten fixed paylines. All wins pay left to right, unless the two-ways-pay special feature is active. In that case, you just need three or more matching adjacent symbols. It doesn’t matter if they start with the leftmost or rightmost reel. They’ll grant a win either way! Bonus Features

Despite having several special features, there isn’t much connecting them. They play separately from one another, which is a shame. This release would have been twice as fun if we could combine its various bonuses!

• Stacked Wilds:

Wilds can only appear during regular gameplay. There’s a chance that the Wild on the third reel will appear stacked. This stacked Wild will cover the third reel partially or completely, increasing the chances of forming a win.

• Free Spins & Expanding Symbols:

Collect three Scatters to win eight free spins. During this bonus, one icon will be randomly chosen to be the expanding symbol. This icon will vertically expand if three or more expanding symbols are present on at least three different reels. If you find three more Scatters at the same time while free spins are being played, you retrigger the bonus. This does not change the chosen expanding icon.

• Two-Ways-Pay:

Find even one special symbol on the board to activate this special feature. For the next ten spins, two-ways-pay will be active. Now, you can form wins both left to right and right to left! Collecting another special symbol while the first is active adds ten more two-ways-pay spins. If free spins are turned on during Two-Ways-Pay, the bonus is paused until free spins are played.
