When we first heard of the title, we thought we were going to be faced with another emoji slot. The sort of thing that a board room of middle-aged men comes up with in hopes of appealing to a younger demographic.

Reactoonz Slot Review

Play’n’Go’s release is played on a seven reel board, with each reel being seven symbols tall. Rather than using paylines, Reactoonz opts for a cluster pay system. It grants a cash prize if five or more matching icons are adjacent to each other horizontally or vertically. Oh, and did we mention that the Collapsing Reels system is active? Each win will destroy existing symbols, and leave room for new ones to take their place.

Theme & Symbols

We’re totally not doing it to get you to keep reading, dear reader. It’s just that we want to gush about the theme a little more. You have all these diverse, goofy looking aliens on the board. The background image itself isn’t particularly impressive. It’s a massive piece of empty space, with a few stars twinkling in the distance. What’s more interesting is Gargantoon, who sits locked up in his floating jar. He’ll react to your wins, make goofy faces, and get more excited the closer you get to freeing him. Quite a nice guy!

In fact, all of the icon designs are quite eye-catching. Almost every alien has a distinct color. Only two of them share, in fact! One is a very bright green color, while the other’s hue is more similar to an olive. There are no other symbols to distract, either. Just bright and colorful aliens as far as the eyes can see.

How to Play Reactoonz

The slot is played on a 7×7 board with Cluster Pays. Rather than following set paylines, so long as enough icons are adjacent to each other, the win will be granted. By itself, cluster wins aren’t anything mind-blowing. But pair them with collapsing reels, and you have a winning formula! Wins blow up, leaving large chunks open for existing symbols to fill, and new ones to occupy. Chaining several prizes together in an awesome winning streak. Who wouldn’t love it?

At first glance, there are a lot of special features. But quite a few are part of regular gameplay, where you will barely notice them. Fluctuation is the perfect example. It chooses a low value alien, and gives them a cool little glow. If that glowing alien wins, it leaves behind two Wilds. You could play for hours and not realize that’s in the game. So don’t sweat the bonuses. Let them naturally come to you while you spin the reels.

Bonus Features

There’s a lot of them to cover, so let’s not waste any of your precious time, dear reader. So which special feature are we explaining first? The answer is..

• Instability

Every time you spin the reels and get a non-winning spin, there’s a chance between four to eight Wilds will be added to the board.

• Quantum Leap

As you chain wins together, the meter on the right slowly fills up. Each time it fully charges, it saves one of four Quantum bonuses. These special features fire when no more winning combinations are on the reels. The bonuses include:
· Implosion: Between three to six icons are transformed into Wilds. All symbols adjacent to the Wilds are destroyed.
· Demolition: All low-value aliens are destroyed.
· Incision: A wild appears in the middle of the reels. Two diagonal lines shoot through the playing field, which display the same icon.
· Alteration: One low value alien is chosen. That symbol is then replaced by another one in all positions.

• Gargantoon

If players unlock all four Quantum special features, then Gargantoon unlocks. He breaks out of his jar, and lands on the reels. First, as a 3×3 monster Wild, then as two 2×2 Wilds, and finally, as nine 1×1 Wilds.

• Giantoonz

If four matching icons form a square, that symbol will temporarily become a Giantoon. Wins are doubled if the Giantoon is part of a winning combination.

• Fluctuation

A low value alien symbol is randomly chosen and highlighted every spin. If these highlighted icons are part of a win, they will create two Wilds.
