The game is played on a 5×5 grid, which uses cluster pays instead of standard paylines. We can’t remember the last time we were floored by graphics this amazing. The developer always makes great looking releases. But we just love the aesthetic Tome of Madness offers. It’s set in a run-down church, with a storm raging outside. The only source of light are lightning flashes, and the candles illuminating the creepy statue in the background. The perfect horror setting!

We were impressed that symbols were just as awesome as the rest of the visuals. Usually, they fall slightly behind. Not here, however! Almost every icon is connected to Cthulhu in some form. Whether it’s used for dark rituals, or is just a part of his body. Who wouldn’t want a humanoid skull with face tentacles and a green gem sticking out of the forehead?

On top of everything else, the slot also has quite a few interesting special features. Cascading reels are active all the time. That means each winning combination will vanish, and leave an empty space for existing icons to appear. Brand new ones will fall down to take their place; allowing players to chain multiple consecutive wins. All at the cost of one single spin! Other notable bonuses includes Eye Marks, the Portal special feature, free spins and the Mega Wild.

You play this Play’n Go game on a 5×5 board. Wins aren’t awarded following paylines, but instead by symbols forming clusters. A cluster is any group of four icons which are adjacent to each other. This allows for all kinds of unorthodox wins! You can wager between $0.10 and $100 with each spin. And for your troubles, you can win up to 2000x your total stake.

• Eye Marks:

If a win occurs in the purple square, it creates two special Wilds. The square moves every time you spin during normal gameplay. In free spins, multiple spots have the Eye Mark present. Score a win in all of them, and you summon the Mega Wild!

• Mega Wild:

This Wild doesn’t stay still. It moves across the board, increasing your odds of scoring wins with it present.

• The Portal:

Each win fills up the portal slightly. The portal becomes charged every time you fill up a quarter of the circle. This creates two special Wilds to the grid, with the Abyss and Void special effects! These special effects only trigger when a win with one of the special Wilds occurs.

• Free Spins:

Once the portal is completely filled up, it unlocks a free spins round. You need a total of 42 symbols to activate the bonus. However, every three extra winning icons on top of that will grant an extra portal effect. You can have a maximum of seven extra portal effects active.
